Holi Festival

Holi, a vibrant festival in India, is celebrated with fervor and excitement throughout the nation. The occasion is marked with the sound of drums beating, colorful powders thrown in the air, and people wearing smiles on their faces. It brings sweet happiness and love to the community as they come together to observe the occasion. Additionally, it is typically celebrated on the last full moon day of Falgun in the Hindu calendar, which falls in March. The energy of togetherness and positivity emanating from the festival creates an exuberant atmosphere.

More About The Festival

Festival History:

The festival of Holi has its roots in Hindu legends, particularly the folklore surrounding the demon King Hiranyakashyap. According to the legends, King Hiranyakashyap was worshipped by the people in his kingdom, but his son Prahlad was a devoted follower of Lord Vishnu. This devotion greatly disappointed Hiranyakashyap, and he instructed his sister Holika to enter a blazing fire with Prahlad on her lap. Despite being in the fire, Prahlad remained unharmed due to his devotion to Lord Vishnu, while Holika was burnt to ashes. Since then, people commemorate this event by lighting a bonfire called Holika on the eve of Holi, symbolizing the triumph of good over evil.

Celebration Locations:

1. Jaipur, Rajasthan:
Known as the Pink City of India, Jaipur celebrates Holi in a unique manner. The festival is observed over two days, starting with Holika Dahan (bonfire worship) on the first day, followed by Dhulandi (color play) on the second day. During the bonfire worship, people pray for prosperity, and on Dhulandi, they joyfully apply bright colors to their friends and family, seeking blessings from elders. Jaipur packages
